So this is my second entry... and I'm writing it because reading everyone else's made me really homesick (schoolsick? is that what you call it? you get the idea). I forgot that it is cold up here in the North (and by cold I mean 60 degrees, DC spoiled me), so I'm missing DC like crazy, and even as I'm following the Guantanamo situation in the news and am getting angry I'm also getting really sentimental looking at the capital building... and the Washington Monument... and our president... basically, I miss DC. That being said, I love New England. Went to Maine last weekend, and I really don't believe anywhere is more beautiful. It's cold, and foggy, with spruce trees and craggy rocks and the leaves are almost all the way out and the coast line is rocky and harsh and the most magical place in the world. But that's just my opinion. Everyone knows everyone else on an island, and there's not much else to do but read three books in a weekend and drive around exploring and blasting country music (yes, it's a little known fact, but New Englanders love their country music. Don't judge.). I'd forgotten how much I love New England and the ocean. Once a New Englander, always a New Englander, and it will always confuse you for the rest of your life is strangers are friendly and talkative. And seeing all my friends here is amazing, but I miss my ones at school!
For Hannah/ slylilgoblin, if you read this, I'm almost done with North and South! And when I finish my reward will be renting the series... I love Mr. Bell, he's adorable, and Mr. Thorton's kind of awesome. I don't know why I'm reading it so slowly, probably because I am trying to read about six other books at the same time.
Last night Manda and I protested Prop 8 with a few hundred other people in Copley Square in Boston. It was amazing, albeit unfortunate that it needed to happen. But the people there were amazing, and, as one woman put it perfectly, "now California can look up to Iowa."
In conclusion, this is a shout out to anyone who can help with this... Deepa? Jack? Hannah? I have been very, very non-geeky since I've been home. I've been cut off. SPN is over, I finished my one geeky book (Pendragon, a series started for 12 year olds just finished, and I've been reading it since 5th grade. It is horribly written and completely predictable. I love it.), and, well, yeah. It's sad. Although a friend is trying to start me on TrueBlood. Basically, though, I need recommendations. I'm in withdrawal. Help.

So this is my first entry... and I feel kind of weird doing it, but I miss everyone at Georgetown more! So, let's see, what do you all talk about on these things? Well, for the sake of slylilgoblin and fiercynn, I will let you two know that hannah, tommy and I are going to see the Star Trek movie today! And fiercynn, a New York Times article refers to the Kirk/Spock dynamic as, I quote, "in the tradition of many great romances"... So basically I'll probably like it. And slylilgoblin, "North and South" is very, very good so far, but I still don't get what "crisis of consience" is making her dad leave the church...
Not much else new, besides that it feels a little strange to write an entry people can read, and that it's awesome to be in Virginia. Great Falls is the most suburban place possible, but Hannah and I are having a great time relaxing and reading and sleeping about fifteen hours a day, which, after finals, is unbelievable! Last night we watched Stardust, which both of us agreed might be the best movie of all time! If slyilgoblin hasn't seen it, you need to! And djinntonic drunk dialed us last night, which made my night!
So, that's it, and I miss whoever is reading this!

So I am trying to learn how to work this thing. This is an experiment in posting. Do not mock.
